Job Overview

Twin Ridge Contractors is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in assessing project requirements, analyzing costs, and preparing accurate estimates. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Project Assessment:
    • Evaluate project specifications, blueprints, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
    • Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
  2. Cost Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough cost analysis for materials, labor, and equipment required for construction projects.
    • Research and stay updated on market trends, pricing, and industry developments to ensure competitiveness.
  3. Estimation Preparation:
    • Prepare detailed and precise project estimates, taking into account all relevant costs and potential risks.
    • Utilize estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the estimation process.
  4. Bid Proposals:
    • Develop comprehensive bid proposals for submission to clients, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budget constraints.
    • Present and defend estimates to internal stakeholders and clients as needed.
  5. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to refine estimates and address project-specific challenges.
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration across departments to streamline the estimation process.
  6. Cost Tracking:
    • Monitor and track project costs during construction, comparing actual costs to estimated costs.
    • Analyze discrepancies and provide insights for continuous improvement in estimating accuracy.
  7. Vendor and Supplier Relations:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements to optimize procurement processes.
